Good thread man...Myself...been over there 3 times now...been to damm near every base in Iraq, 1 in Afghanistan, 2 in Pakistan, Oman, and Kuwait. Im air force and this was out of 3 deployments totaling about 2 years between them all...Very unusual for us...but enjoyed it because of the support!!

All letters, packages, cards, toiletries are more than necessary over there...but mostly the support is what we need...

Dang, just noticed this and tomorrow is the last day of my enlistment. Marines aren't sending me back to Iraq anymore

Hey Guys, this is a great idea. I just got out of the Army after eight years and I bought a '96 Z28 with my VA disability settlement (caught one too many IED's to the face in Iraq lol). While I was deployed letters from home were gold, even if they were from complete strangers. Make no mistake, it sucks over there and you guys are really cool for doing this. Thanks.
