Winshield washer replaced and wipers won't turn off

    My car's (1980 Z28) original windshield washer pump broke.
    I bought a new washer pump (TRICO 11-516) and installed it according to the instructions.
    it fits nicely and the instructions were clear.
    But now the problem is that after starting the wipers do not stop at all.
    Does anyone have experience with a similar washer pump or otherwise know where the problem could be?

    Looking over the diagram I would suspect switch is bad since pushing the washer switch turns on the wipers until you let off of it. 78w-eng.jpg #ad

    I found the reason, connector that goes to washer pump (that has dark blue and black/yellow conductors) had to reversed from what it was on the original pump.
