So I am working on a 2004 silverado, it through p0446. I pulled the vent valve and cleaned it, very dirty. Any ideas on getting this computer to reset? I've driven 5 times. cold and hat starts. city and freeway about 45 miles. All I found on line was http://www.obdii.com/drivecycle.html. I have done about 20 start/stop cycles.

The p0446 is coming back even if you manually clear it with the scanner?

Hmmmm... maybe a cold reset is in order by disconnecting the battery for an hour, to kill the keep alive memory, since it's been cleaned. That'll start the computer in a fresh state, sounds like right now it's decided the P0446 is a "hard" code.

If you cleaned and the code won't go away maybe the solenoid is stuck or the circuit faulty. I bet the solenoid

the problem was getting the computer to go through enough cycles to complete the self-test. It finally did and the p0446 code is back :(
