Radar detector opinions

    Sometimes I feel like my car is a sitting duck in the cross hairs of police speed traps. I'm trying to get some opinions on the best radar detector for my needs. I drive mostly around the city and the Camaro doesn't take long road trips.

    I've looked at the Valentine V1 and it claims the best protection but I'm wondering if I would be better off with something else with more features. Since I drive around the city mostly, would a V1 end up with a lot of false alarms?

    What about detectors with GPS filtering, anyone have recommendations?

    I have GX65 which is the RX65 with GPS filtering. The detection has never let me down, and not only can you filter out false alarms by location, but it also marks speed traps and such. Its great in combination with an app like Waze.

    Valentine you can add an external GPS filter to stop false alarms in the city.

    I thought with instant on radar that all a detector is good for is letting you know you are caught?
