is there an easy way to remove the "z28 stripes" on gen 3 camaros.
i've tried the "eraser wheel" in the drill motor, heating and peeling, soaking with goo gone. all work but oh so slow.
is there a way to do this faster or should i just tough it out?

Its most likely just going to be slow going. I would go with the heat gun idea just so you dont soak too many chemicals into the paint.

 

Listen to Landon. _____^ The best method is to work it nice and slow with a heat gut, or a hair dryer and just take your time. Ortherwise you might end up destroying the finish of the car, and now you are in it for a new paint job.
