Help with reverse lights

    I’m not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff so I need help, I have a automatic 1979 z28 350, previous owner installed a b&m shifter and it appears that the neutral safety wires are running to the shifter since they are no longer plugged into the stock switch but my reverse lights don’t work and are still plugged into the stock switch. Is this why they don’t work? Do they also need to be plugged into the shifter?

    Probably yes, because it's not going to see it's in reverse on the original switch.
