    Hi,

My rear right spring beagin to touch to car body. The wheel move close to rear bumper.I investigate and see that the right axle tube is spined for cca 20 ° . I remove the weld pin with a screwdriver without problem.
I re-align cca the tube with a hamner, not to big effort but don't know how to fix it.
    So my questions:
-how the tube is fixed originaly?
-is there a way to align the tube, a position, adjustment, zero position?
-how can i fix it now
-what is the purpose of the weld pin?Are there more ones?

    Thanks for answers,Kristian

Hello Kristian, If this were me, I would take it to a driveline shop that has a certified welder. This axle has a cast iron center with steel tubes and must be welded a certain way.

With that said, if you are an experienced welder, you can weld through the hole where that slug came out of, however one of the mods that has been done on these is to weld all the way around the tube. But again, cast iron is a PITA to weld and I would only want a certified welder to do it. upload_2024-4-19_14-23-17.png #ad

You do NOT want the weld to look like the weld below. Severe undercut and will fail.

Thank you Tony, welding will be the unic metod. For now i drill an oblique hole in the middle of case and tube and i put a 6mm trade bolt, so is like a shaft key in between.
I will go to an aligment shop, see the results and if will be OK i will weld tube and case.
