1969 Z/28 value. Hello everyone. New member . I was lucky enough to find a few unmolested z28's. All the cars are correct x77 0r x33 cars. The protect o plate and stampings are matching and look correct. Not restored. Original cars. One has a non matching paint that is excellent. Decade or more owner of these cars. I have checked all major auctions and valuation tools. Are these prices accurate in relationship to what these cars sell for in a non auction setting? I would like the opinion of members on this. Thanks .

Do they have the DZ 302 engine and 4 speed? Those engines are getting scarce $10-20K depending on intake and dress. 12 bolt rear end?

A numbers matching unrestored 69 z28 in fair condition will fetch way more than $20k. Heck, even clean plain janes go for more than that. Considering rust, unmolested, etc it might fetch north of $30k. Restored, it’s a $70k car if not an oddball interior/exterior color w/ limited options. These cross mechum and can fetch into the $80ks for real desirable one.

Unmolested un-restored 69 Z's are even more rare than ever before. If what describe is true with the original DZ , it will get near $40's all day in good condition. It will sell fast.

I agree with sky puppy with 40's all day. I've been looking hard for even just a roller and its still a lot of money.

Another thread that goes to the abyss of "what happened"? LOL

Hello all, newb on this site. I just bought a 34,000 mile all correct documented 69 RS Z-28 for 100k. Did I overpay some? Perhaps, but values of these cars are on the rise. This car was purchased on BAT. A 69 Z-28 convertible sold on BAT in may for 155k.

Z28's did not come in convertibles - I know the auction you are referring to though - it's a nice car but $155K nice? I guess it's all about how much one is willing to pay for their 'dream' car. With the prices going for 1st gens these days, who's to really say if they are worth the $$ they draw? I don't like the way all this money is thrown out there simply because it hurts the lower $$ car enthusiasts, imo.

But I do realize how much it costs to rebuild one of these cars. Add to the fact that the dollar is about worth .18 cents compared to around 1960's - value doesn't go very far these days.

My mistake on the covert. Sorry. I dont disagree with you at all. Just mentioning the values in the previous posts seemed low. Not trying to make my self feel better for paying 100k. As I've watch muscle cars over the years values can tank suddenly. I just decided to pay up. I'm 58 and didn't want to wait any longer.

If I came across a bit brazen, it was was certainly not intended on your purchase , I'm just in a bit of a bummer mood right now. But as long as your happy and you had to take the dive, I commend you and wish the best on your new member of the family! Feel free to post some pics.

Sky, didnt feel that way. And thanks for the welcome. On another note its comical all the lore stories of DZ's being underrated and more like 370hp some even swear by 400hp. My car comes with a recent dyno sheet with peak hp @255hp which corrects right about to the stated 290hp at the crank. That was also on race gas to replicate 1969 fuel.

yeah, my 70 z28 was rated at 360hp and they just recently dyno’d a 100% stock one at 374 with headers so numbers aren’t too far off.

Guess off topic a bit but was that a LT1 Rosster?

To me it seems as though 1st gen values are coming down a bit. I never thought I would ever see the day that a 67 Z/28 would be listed for under $100k, but there are two out there that are struggling at under 90k and are very nice carts, not beaters in the least bit.

You make an interesting point. Honestly, I have not closely followed the values on the 69 RSZ28's. I just always wanted one. Current auctions tend to run 80-100k for correct cars.
