Well, I sold my 98 Camaro SS... Relocating to Connecticut for a new job, new house, and a sniff, sniff, new Subaru Ascent to tackle the winter of snow and ice ahead. The Camaro SS went to good hands, and will remain in warmer gentler winters awaiting spring from inside a garage. I really enjoyed talking Camaro's with everyone here, great group of folks here. Tony, Ken, Glenn, 4thand26, and so many others have been great to share a common hobby with. I appreciate everyone's time and knowledge. Thank to you all! Mike
I give it 6 months before you have another camaro But yea, winters up in the NE area can be brutal. I just had a trip up to northern Illinois and the amount of rust on all of those cars is astonishing. At least it went to a good home. And just because you don't have a Camaro doesn't mean you have to leave. Like I said, you will get another one lol. Even if it is a beater v6 just to pound around with.
Tony, I wouldn't be surprised in the least, WHEN I buy another one But it'll likely be one of the new "retro" look Camaro's, don't think it'll be brand new, but I always hated beating on a brand new car... (Well, except the Mustang... It deserved it!) I'll be in and out from time to time, don't plan on leaving. Just a new place/state to call home. Z28.com is "Home" to me, no matter the address on my bills! Thanks again for all the help! Mike
Subarus are pretty popular in colder climates, all wheel drive, so its a decent pick. Moving like that, especially for a new job, sounds like another adventure in life has begun. Best of luck with it
Yeah' took an STI for a test "Drive" - Salesman looked a little pale by the time we got back to the dealership, I guess a few too many turns at 2x the speed limit... Or, maybe it was something he ate ;-) At any rate... Stiff bone jarring ride. So, probably a No. Actually, came across something unexpected and similarly priced. Please no bashing... a 2017 Lincoln MKZ with the 3.0L Twin Turbo V-6, and all wheel drive. Sum it up: Fast Class, with 400HP & 400lb/ft of torque. 1/4 mile times I've seen in the 13.4 range @ 107mph. And that's stock, and driven by folks who've never learned how to launch a car to max out their ET & MPH! Wish Hypertech comes out with a tuner for it! I'll be contacting them before I pull the trigger. I see the prior year models came with the 3.5L Ecoboost, and they have the tuner for those & 80HP/TQ. I'm at about 100 foot above sea level here in Old Lyme CT, right on the ocean, but local track is a couple hours away... :-( Too many options...
Wait, talking about getting a Subaru and then a Ford? Maybe we should move this to the "Other" section hahahahaha.
Hahahaa… Yeah' I know! Hey, wait a minute... It's a Lincoln after all, not a typical bargain basement ford at least! Haul Azz in class I took a look at the Chevy SS and Pontiac G8 GXP's, but dang are they pricey for a low mileage one... low $30k range... Geez! Tony - Always liked your sharp wit! Good man.
A friend has a 6spd Caddi and it runs! Sounds cool too he added a cam, headers, a tune and ... Not your grandma's Caddi for sure.
SCT most likely supports a tune for that MKZ, see if you can get them to give you the 4 digit catch code from the PCM. The engine in the 2017 has everything pretty much covered with plastic covers, so they won't want to get the code from the PCM decal since they'd have to move stuff. But it's also normally on a decal on one of the doors or door frames.
Turbos are good. Been driving Saabs for awhile and add a little extra boost makes you smile.. Hot rod Lincoln!
