    Good afternoon,
I don't really know where to begin. Some of you may remember me...some may not...

For those who don't know me, my name is Matt....nice to meet ya'll!!

For those who do know me...it's great to see everybody!

It would be difficult to summarize the last few months and years that I have been absent. I guess the most pertinent things related to this forum would involve the Firehawk. Stacey is gone. As most of you remember, I was struck by a drunk driver in 2010. This caused a significant amount of damage to what was a "mint" condition vehicle. Because she was in such "great" shape for a 8 year old vehicle, the insurance company was adamant about fixing it. After thousands of dollars that we sunk back into the vehicle, it was "fixed". Well some wonderful friends in Louisiana (ya'll may know everyone who was involved) realized how discouraged I was with the car and volunteered to help make it right. Well a little while and a lot of miles and one emergency plane landing later....she was fixed. I finally felt that connection again...

But as it often does...life throws you a few curves. My father was diagnosed with gastroesophageal cancer in October 2011. In May 2012, he lost his battle with cancer. The quick progression of the disease caught me off guard. I spend a lot of time dealing with the sick and injured at work, but this was more complicated and more damaging then I could have ever imagined.

Things at home were wonderful. However, my daily driver and Kristen's 1998 Camaro both broke down...both essentially a total loss. With the Firehawk and SS on daily driver duty...the Firehawk started to show signs of her age. Small problems began to add up to larger problems...and as a young couple, we needed something "practical". I used to hate this word...but I realized that I needed to make some smart decisions. This resulted in a brand change for me...but I kept it in the family. I was actually able to use the Firehawk as leverage when I went to find a "practical" vehicle. I was able to have a little fun while picking it out...like asking Kristen if I could get the new ZL1 sitting on the lot. While I would have loved to add a ZL1 to the family...this wouldn't work well for work, beach, hauling three dogs, and our plans over the next few years. When the day was done, I was able to walk away with a brand new 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. While it certainly isn't a "go fast" car...it is a truck that I have wanted for a long, long time....since I was a kid in school. Plus, 397 HP and 765 lb. ft. torque isn't too shabby.

    So here's Haley...

So there it is...the Firehawk is in the custody of a young couple who I happen to know. He's been treating her right from what I can tell and has been able to give her the attention that she deserves.

Wanted to stop in and say hello...I'd like to hang around for a while...miss my Z28.com family. Now I just need to update my signature..

    See ya on the road,
    Matt:wavey:

Welcome back Matt. I have been planning to call you guys, but as always, time is always against me. Kris and I finally tied the knot two weeks ago, and we put her SOM SS and my LE in and had a Camaro car themed wedding.
