Well another chapter in the story of my ailments with the car :( As most of you seen with the pics I decided to lower the car an inch with lowering springs. Well with that you must take the car and get the alignment checked to make sure everything is up to par with the newer angles of the suspension. I dropped the car off at the shop (shop is a good shop and did the alignment on the black car I had when I replaced all the suspension) and they called me the next day (yesterday) and said the car was ready to go. After work I went up there to pick the car up and when I get in the car (the car was running) I hear a ding, ding, ding and check out the DIC center and it has an explanation point with turn the enging off flashing and says no oil pressure :upsetmad: So just a quick thought was that something happened during the start up so I shut the car off and restart it, just to find the same message hollering at me lol. I walk back in the shop and discuss the issue and they tell me that the person just drove it around the block to make sure the wheel was straight. I then proceed to tell them that all I can say is the car had oil pressure when I drove it in and now it doesnt :( Well to shorten the story the car has been picked up from their shop (diagnosis is the oil pump is out of the car) via tow truck and is on the way to the dealership (same one that did the lifter and cam work a couple of months ago when the lifter failed and chewed up the cam lobe) to see what might be going on. I am going to drive up there after work today and discuss with them what are the plans and try my best to get GM to get me a new engine because without me driving the car I have no idea how long the car was ran without oil pressure :( I surely dont want a car that is going to have problems every couple of months from here on out. I will update here as I get info on what is going on with the car.

I am soo sorry Big bro! The same exact thing happened to me in mariah after I took her in for service at the dearlership right after i bought her. They "forgot" to put oil back and let me drive off the lot and long story short, screwed up the engine and it had to be replaced. Not on my penny though. I hope it will all work out for you! Keep us updated!

If its the oil pump thats not the alignments shops fault. But what I would do is bypass the Dealer and call GM about putting in a new motor. The dealer wont because gm wont pay them to do a motor at this time. The dealer should give you the number to call. If not let me know and I'll contact my dealer to get the number.

Well, it's not the alignment shops fault, so I would be pressing GM to get you a brand new engine. This failure could have caused a lot more damage that is unrepairable. I think I would have let it run for another hour or so lol. Hope you get everything worked out soon on it.

Im not blaming the alignment shop for this issue. I just wanted it to be known that I was not driving the car when this happened and that it would not be turned around on me with someone trying to say I was hot rodding the motor and its what caused the issue. The car is at the dealer now and to be honest I am still not ruling out that there is an issue with the sensor not being plugged in or wiring issue, and the reason I say this is I have had a car that didnt have oil pressure and it doesnt take but a minute or so and your motor is making noise. Well the motor wasnt making noise when I was there so we will just have to wait and see. The dealer is going to dig into her tomorrow and I will update on what is said and if for some reason the pump did go out then yes I will be working towards getting a new motor because just replacing the oil pump is not going to be satisfactory for me.

I said it when the lifter shat itself that I wouldnt be happy with an R&R of the lifter. You knew if it had grenaded it was only a matter of time before something went out, unless you were extremely lucky. I would be working to get a new motor ASAP. It is not like you are gaining anything by getting a new motor at this point. The mileage you have on it is insignificant. They need to do the right thing. I beleive there is such a thing as a lemon law and as much as you love your car she may be one of the bad ones. I know my brother's wife had a PPM LT1 and it stayed in the shop and the dealer wouldnt do the right thing for her until they towed it in and went to work on it and the door fell off the car while it was up on the racks lol.

i would bet its chunks from the cam and lifter problem locked up the pump and now just screwed over the engine.

i would push the dealership for a new longblock for sure and dont quit till you get it! i kno you can do it glenn your car is worth it

I think I read somewhere that there was an issue with these pumps failing on the early models.

    ^x2

i just searched and bam tons of threads of oil pumps locking up ot of nowhere on the 2010 cars from early on

Yeah as I stated we will have to wait and see what the dealership says tomorrow. I already have asked for some help and the wheels are turning if the oil pump is indeed shot. The car is still one of the best cars I have owned and I love her, so by no means does this turn me away from GM nor the Camaro. When things are mass produced sometimes things just happen and it might be that I just got one of the ones that has a few issues. I know it will all work out in the end it just stinks being without a car that you feel you should be able to trust to drive it anywhere. I guess its a good thing I didnt drive it to Canada with Jason like he was trying to get me too lol. Anywho I will let everyone know what the dealer tells me tomorrow, and since the work was done on the lifters I am kind of hoping that the plug in to the sensor wasnt completely connected and just fell off. If not and they have to get into the motor then I will for sure push as hard as I can to get the motor replaced because I will not feel comfortable driving the car anywhere if they just plan on slapping an oil pump on there and letting me go.

well you said it was making clicking noise and thats never a good sign i mean could be a bearing gettin wiped out of jusr the lifters but either way push for a new motor i kno i would

Sorry to hear about this Glenn. you have the right attitude though. Things that are mass produced are prone to have a problem here and there. My wife's civic needed a new engine just last year because of coolant "seeping" out certain spots in the block. It was caused by a bad cast mold. Good thing is Honda took care of it all even though my warranty was expired. So hopefully the same turns out for you and the dealership takes care of you.

If it helps you out any you are more then welcome to come get my Firehawk and use it till your get car...........AFTER you put my longtubes and wireing harness on. Oh and of course you just pay for the gas and oil.:biglaugh:
